World’s first 3D-printed mosque: Dubai is planning to construct the world's first fully functional 3D-printed mosque in Bur Dubai, The project, announced in January 2023, represents the latest step in Dubai's 3D printing strategy, which aims to position the UAE and Dubai as a 3D printing hub by 2030. “We elected to 3D-print the mosque because it’s a new and innovative technology that can potentially save time and resources compared to traditional building methods,” Alhalyan Alsuwaidi said.
The vertiport terminal:
The vertiport terminal concept at Dubai International Airport
(DXB) was developed by Foster + Partners in collaboration
with Skyports Infrastructure. This innovative concept is part of
a future network of infrastructure for electric vertical take-off
and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, enabling high-speed, zero-
emissions travel and connecting prominent areas of Dubai.
The design was developed in collaboration with advanced air mobility (AAM) company Skyports Infrastructure, and endorsed by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, according to Foster + Partners. It would be located next to Dubai International Airport (DXB) and integrate with existing airport networks, as well as
surrounding transport hubs.
